Oh, to be there!  Our friends Woodenbox are one of 12 Scottish bands playing at SXSW this year and their last gig of the festival happens tomorrow (Saturday) at Jovitas Party.

Taking a look at the Jovitas Party website, something about it reminds us of Glasgow and that may not be altogether crazy.  After all there’s that great description of Nice N Sleazy recounted by Jim Gellatly on our Glasgow Music Tour.

According to one YelpGlasgow reviewer, Sleazy’s is the closest you can get in Glasgow to Austin, Texas. Ross from the US recommends “a killer jukebox and a bar so packed with hipster musicians you couldn’t move without starting a new band”.

But, even if we can’t be on the other side of the world, we’re with Woodenbox in spirit – and very glad to say they were with us in person at the launch of Glasgow Music Tour at King Tuts.  Glasgow twinned with Austin!
