Water Row to Govan Pontoon

The ferry landing provides the best view of the Riverside Museum.

Centuries ago you could walk across the Clyde from Govan and several other points at low tide. When the river was deepened for ships and shipbuilding, ferry services carried people back and forward.

Since shipbuilding declined, so have ferry services. Now local people often describe Govan as an island. But during summer months you can ride the ferry to the Riverside Museum
