Let’s go underground. Our latest YouTube Playlist features a formidable choice of sounds from Glasgow’s club scene. So many different artists on Route 3 of Glasgow Music Tour it is hard to know where to start. How about the first destination on the route: The Arches with Slam, DJ Shadow, Daft Punk…
Glasgow Music Tour has an unbeatable soundtrack simply because there is so much great music at every venue we visit. But perhaps Route 3, Glasgow Centre West has the greatest variety as it journeys from The Arches to King Tuts.
So it wasn’t long before our Hugh Deery collected 45 videos of bands featured on the audio tour: from Carl Cox to Johnny and the Self Abusers, through Belle and Sebastian, The Cure, Manic Street Preachers, Matthew Herbert, Oasis, Stereophonics…
No wonder Glasgow has been chosen for next year’s MTV European Music Awards. And (ahem) we suggest there’s no better way to get an idea of what the city has to offer than letting our Jim Gellatly guide you through the world’s best music scene. You can download the club tour app for smartphones, Glasgow Music Tour Route 3, Centre West from Guidigo or the audio version of Glasgow Music Tour Centre West for MP3 players from Bandcamp.
The tour is led by DJ Jim Gellatly who interviews musicians and other DJs about what is so good about Glasgow’s music scene. Here is what BBC Scotland presenter Vic Galloway has to say about the Sub Club:
“When you are standing above the woofers you can actually feel your trouser legs shaking. People like that”.
